Medical Student Electives
The elective in Dermatology is predominately a clinical rotation and it is designated for
students planning a career in Primary Care. The student will rotate in the Dermatology
clinics working with the residents and faculty. In additon, the student will be part of
the Dermatology Inpatient Consult team working with the Chief Resident in Dermatology as
well as the faculty. Though the students' role is primarily that of an observer, she/he
will be expected to do some clinical evaluations as well. Each student is espected to
attend all of the Dermatology conferences during the elective period. Students are also
expected to complete the web-based cases on the university's intranet.
